Public Figure | Never Walk Alone
Danielle White is a 32-year-old young adult who has been living with acute Ulcerative Colitis for 17 years. Danielle is a miracle survivor of her disease due to all of her obstacles that she has experienced within the past 17 years. Since the year 2000, she has been hospitalized numerous times and has had a number of 19 surgeries performed on her including one of her most intensive surgery of all in 2005, which she had her colon removed. Danielle’s decision to undergo surgery to have her colon removed to release her from her day to day pain and blood loss illustrates her strength and determination to fight this disease. Danielle is very dedicated to having the world know that Crohn’s and Colitis is not a disease that children and adults have to live with by themselves. She volunteers weekly at the local hospitals and communicates with patients daily to assure them they are not alone on this journey. In her spare time, she loves to travel to speak to young adults about living their dreams in spite of different setbacks. Ulcerative Colitis may have put her plans on hold but she is very determined to live out dreams and have her fellow UC and Crohn’s friends conquer the same.
